]]> Art lessons as programmes of social rehabilitation and motivation for children with disabilities.

Focusing on detection of children’s functional disorders sometimes prevents from noticing their creative manifestations, capacities and intellect. It is worth noticing how varied and interesting are the ways children perceive information and how they can use it. This is what a specialist tries to notice during art lessons in order to include the program of exercises, which is individually tailored for each child, in the rehabilitation plan.

The cost of art lesson for one child: € 5 (remuneration for interest-related educator)

Material and technical provisions of a lesson for one child: € 10 (clay, colours, paper, etc.)

]]> For nine years the society Dižvanagi has been purposefully moving towards implementation of their idea of a rehabilitation centre for families of children with special needs.

The idea of Dižvanagi is based on individualised and holistic approach – by not only doing formal work, but by actual work with the family and a child as a unique, united whole.

Currently the idea has found its home in Liepāja – five steps away from the seaside park and ten steps – from the coast of the Baltic Sea. However, it is still in becoming and continues to develop. Anyone can voluntarily support us in the development of this Idea!

The camp takes place at the structural unit Dižvanagi of the society, thus enabling urban children to get acquainted with rural environment and to spend their time together in an interesting and meaningful manner.

Art lesson for one participant of the camp: € 5

Catering expenses of one child per day: € 7

A donation for transportation costs: € 15

A donation for the participation of one child in the camp: €70

]]> The basic principles of effective neurorehabilitation are the continuity of the process and competent parents, who are aware of the health condition of a child and know how to continue the work with a child in the periods between rehabilitation courses.

Step 1 of the programme: an educating cycle of lectures for parents (40 hours);

Step 2: an individual consultation with an overall evaluation of the child’s development (approximately 4 hours);

Step 3: Development of a child’s individual neurorehabilitation programme for a period of six months. During the implementation for the programme, the family regularly receives consultative support.

  • A donation for the participation of one family in the training (40-hour lecture course): € 150
  • First individual consultation: € 1,500
  • Repeated individual consultation: € 500
  • A donation for the implementation of a home visit (consultative support): € 20
